Description
The red wine Landua from Aiurri is the result of blending grapes from parcels of old vineyards, aged between 50 and 80 years, located between the towns of La Sonsierra and Laguardia, at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria. The diversity of soils, the location, and the influence of the microclimate give this wine a distinctive character. The predominant grape variety is Tempranillo, with some Graciano, Garnacha, white varieties, and other lesser-known grapes, all reflecting the uniqueness and complexity of this territory.
Vinification is carried out per parcel and by municipality, to enhance the features of each vineyard. After a manual harvest and careful selection of the grapes, spontaneous fermentation takes place in French oak vats and concrete tanks, with gentle extraction and strict temperature control. The wine ages for twelve months in French oak barrels, followed by an additional seven months in concrete tanks, allowing for a harmonious evolution before bottling.
The wine has a persistent floral olfactory profile, enriched with notes of red fruits, light spices, and mineral undertones. On the palate, it is balanced and refined, with silky tannins, a good structure, and a long finish that brings out the full complexity of the terroir from which it comes.
It pairs perfectly with game dishes or aged cheeses.
