Description
The Pinot Noir Alto Adige DOC by Adler von Klausen is a classic red that elegantly reflects the character of the grape variety and the South Tyrolean region. Cultivated at an altitude between 420 and 750 meters on the south and southeast facing slopes of the Isarco Valley, it benefits from ideal conditions for balanced maturation. The alluvial soils, enriched by porphyry sediments and limestone deposits from the dolomite rock, give the wine structure and complexity.
Winemaking is done through traditional maceration on the skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Following this, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and a period of aging on fine lees in large wooden barrels, a technique that enhances the wine's softness and depth without overshadowing its natural freshness.
In appearance, it shows a brilliant ruby red. On the nose, it offers an intense bouquet with a velvety texture and well-balanced tannins. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, and lively, with a pleasant acidity that lengthens its finish and enhances its drinkability.
It pairs excellently with game meats, spit-roasted dishes, stews, and spicy cheeses.
